April Meeting
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: What Is It and Why Should Estate Planners Care About It?
Speaker
Ann Jenrette-Thomas, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer - Stinson
Description
Diversity, equity and inclusion are hot topics from the dinner table to the board room. Yet, what do these terms really mean and why should it matter to estate planners, CPAs, financial planners, and other allied professionals?
An increasingly diverse American public requires estate planning professionals to respond to changing times and client needs. Not only does a diverse industry workforce better serve a diverse client base, it also helps firms retain diverse employees and broadens the pipeline when recruiting new talent. Increased diversity can also help attract new clients from different demographics. Ultimately, those involved in the estate planning and related fields must embrace and address the issues of diversity, equity and inclusion to ensure business success. In this program, participants will:
* Understand the difference between diversity, equity and inclusion
* Learn the underlying business case for why a growing number of leaders and business are addressing these issues
* Discover how a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion can help expand the pipeline of prospective clients
* Receive a few strategies to help diversify recruiting efforts
